George Beasley (b. 1943)
George Beasley was born in Ironton, Ohio, in 1943. In 2010 he retired as a professor of fine art and the coordinator of the sculpture program at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
His work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in collections all over the world. One of his best-known works in Atlanta is his sculpture Five Points Monument, which towers over passersby at the historic downtown intersection. His cast bronze piece Trip #2 is part of Georgia's State Art Collection.
