Jim Frazer (b. 1949)

Jim Frazer, an Atlanta native, was born in 1949. He earned his M.F.A. degree in photography from Georgia State University in Atlanta, teaching there as well as at the Atlanta College of Art and Mercer University in Macon.
Among his many contributions to the Atlanta art scene, Frazer is the founding president of Nexus, currently known as the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. He has also held several solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. His works are part of several Georgia-based collections, including those of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Coca-Cola Company, and the Georgia Power Company. His photograph View behind a Filling Station off I-16, Middle Georgia and an untitled work are part of Georgia's State Art Collection.
